Job Description

Responsive recruiter Job Title: Pool Team Member and Front Desk Representative Reports to: Sales & Service Manager FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Applicants interested in the Pool Team Member and Front Desk Representative position must be excited to work in a fun, fast paced environment to make every interaction a positive unforgettable experience for our guests. With our unique, high standard developmental programs you will master the art of guest experience and can grow professionally into an exciting career. Applicants will be fully trained as a Swim Instructor and Lifeguard and be expected to hold a minimum of one teaching shift and one lifeguarding shift in addition to any front desk hours.

The ideal candidate for this position is:

  • 18 years or older
  • Comfortable working with children and families
  • An organized and excellent interpersonal communicator
  • Able to work with limited supervision.
  • Must pass background examinations (included with training)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Become knowledgeable of the Goldfish Swim School Brand and clearly communicate membership and scheduling options, year-round programs, and special events to current and prospective members.
  2. Teach life saving swim skills to children aged 4 months - 12 years.
  3. Maintain active relevant certifications (First Aid, CPR, and Lifeguarding).
  4. Conduct sales calls in accordance with Goldfish Swim Schools core values of Integrity/Compassion/Trust and WOW! Customer Service.
  5. Communicate with customers in a timely manner via email and phone calls.
  6. Enroll students in the proper lesson level according to the Goldfish Swim School curriculum.
  7. Discusses multiple membership opportunities with members.
  8. Responsible for the overall cleanliness at the front desk and the dry side of the facility.
  9. Ensure the retail and vending areas is clean, professional, stocked, labeled and profitable.
  10. Consistently provide exceptional guest service and enthusiastically create an unforgettable experience through personal interactions with our guests.
  11. Contribute to the success of the school by driving specific business metrics
  12. Build friendships based on collaboration, integrity, compassion, and trust to create a great place to work that is reflected by the exceptional guest service.
  13. Participate and/or initiate special duties and projects to enhance operational efficiency and improve the guest experience.
  14. Other duties as assigned.


Safety Standards: The safety of our swimmers, parents and team members is of the utmost importance. Goldfish Swim School follows all CDC and WHO safety standards along with following any local guidelines.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or GED. Some college education is preferred. 3 years sales experience or equivalent highly preferred.
Certificates and Licenses Lifeguard, CPR/AED and First Aid certification must be completed within 60 days of hire.

Work Environment While performing this job, the employee is exposed to heat and humidity occasionally. Noise level is usually moderate.

About Goldfish Swim School Franchising, LLC

Goldfish Swim School was founded in 2005 by husband and wife team Chris and Jenny McCuiston. Chris and Jenny took a concept that they formulated with nearly two years of research, and cultivated a business that provides results in the learn-to-swim environment that you simply can’t find anywhere else. Their proprietary curriculum and systems were developed after traveling the country in search of the “best practices” to teach babies and young children how to swim.

The first school, in Birmingham, Michigan, opened in 2006, and quickly saw success. Opening its doors with over 500 students at inception, Goldfish currently teaches more than 70,000 students per month across the franchise system.

At the beginning of 2008, it made sense to begin the franchising process. As of early 2017, we are currently in the process of expanding franchise opportunities throughout the country and internationally, with over 80 schools open or in development in more than 23 states and Canada.
