Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Must be experienced in the manufacturing industry and able to demonstrate a broad range of competencies with regards to fiber optic termination, polishing inspection & testing.
  • Must be knowledgeable in Optical Fiber Fusion Splicing machines from various brands.
  • Assessing assembly requirements in production floor where a need arises to remodel such fiber optic assembly for NPI use.
  • Planning and scheduling of work loads and priority patch cords to build in parallel to job orders.
  • Preparation of work includes ultrasonic washing of connector components & cutting of fiber optic cables to specification that matches BOM.
  • Must be knowledge in OTDR test and test data interpretation, power meter & light source fault finding is a must.
  • Must be knowledgeable in Interferometer machine for ferrule end-face geometry measurement and data interpretation.
  • Superior knowledge in Machine commissioning and TPM activities is a must as fiber optic assembly equipment are sensitive and must be maintained periodically.
  • Proficient in engineering report presentation with in-depth analysis.
  • Conduct gage repeatability & reliability study to test equipment (i.e. interferometer machine).
  • Perform troubleshooting, repair & testing of equipment and likewise interpretation of in-line fallouts.
  • Work with product engineer to develop test solution to enhance test coverage and testability.
  • Authorized to stop any production machine if the machine does not meet production requirement.
  • Well versed in handling SFP-550C polishing machines operation and periodic maintenance
  • Derive Continual Improvement, practice Risk Base Thinking in planning and execution of task.
  • Authorized to stop any machine if the machine does not fulfill production requirement.

Job Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science/Engineering in Electrical/Electronics, Computer Engineering/Computer Science

Experience:

  • At least 1 yr of Equipment Maintenance/Testing experience & testing methodologies. Candidates without appropriate experience may be accepted by the hiring manager subject to job nature, availability of buddy, duration of learning, etc.

Special Skills:

  • With good computer literacy, good communication skill and reporting of information/data. Strong interest in computer hardware engineering.
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting a wide range of desktop software and components.
  • Experience in equipment's Total Control Methodology.
  • Basic knowledge on optical fiber cable concept.
  • Superior knowledge in handling fiber optic cable termination equipment & test.
