Job Description

In this role, you'll:

  • support strategic policy and regulatory reforms, including stakeholder engagement and policy development, related to passenger transport (rail, bus, and ferry), point to point transport (taxis and hire vehicles including rideshare vehicles), Transport’s Review of the Roads Act 1993, e-micromobility shared schemes, community improvement districts and other urban policy initiatives.
  • support the work of the team by helping to draft discussion papers, Ministerial briefs, presentations and submissions.
  • build and maintain stakeholder relationships to facilitate collaborative policy development with councils, state government agencies and internal Transport divisions.

Please note that this is a temporary fixed term role up until May 2028.

About you

  • You have experience supporting the development of strategic policy reforms ensuring they align with legislative requirements and government priorities.
  • You have experience supporting engagement with a diverse range of stakeholders, such as state government, councils, industry and the community, helping with engagement efforts to gather insights and drive meaningful policy initiatives.
  • You are a capable communicator who can provide advice to a variety of stakeholders, and you are able to work both autonomously and collaboratively.
  • You might have policy experience working in the land use planning or transport sectors, or other relevant experience.
