• Temporary, Full-Time (35 hours per week) opportunity until October 2028.
• Based in the vibrant Parramatta area with hybrid working supported.
• Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $116,981 up to $129,492 pa plus super.

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of Australia's transition to a low carbon future. You will join a high-performing team shaping policies and reforms that support the development of a domestic low carbon liquid fuels industry, strengthen fuel security, reduce emissions, and create new opportunities for regional economic growth and investment.

As a Policy Officer, you'll play a key role in shaping policy and reform initiatives by providing high-quality research, analysis and advice. You'll work collaboratively across teams, state agencies, commonwealth Government and key industry stakeholders to help develop practical and effective policy solutions.

No two days are the same. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to a broad range of policy projects, respond to emerging issues, and help influence decision-making at both state and national levels.

What you'll be doing

• Contributing to the development, review and implementation of policy, legislative and regulatory reforms.
• Undertaking qualitative and quantitative research to inform policy development and reform initiatives.
• Preparing policy advice, briefs, submissions, discussion papers and reports for senior leaders and decision-makers.

About You

You are a strong communicator who enjoys tackling complex challenges and turning information into meaningful insights. You thrive in a collaborative environment and bring a proactive, adaptable approach to your work.

You'll bring:

• Experience or demonstrated capability in policy development, research, analysis or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and evaluate complex information.
• Excellent written communication skills and the ability to prepare clear, concise and influential policy documents.

Essential Requirements

• Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
