Job Description

As a member of our Policy Development team focused on Behavioral Health & Regulated Content (BHRC), you will serve as a content and product policy expert spanning a portfolio that includes: high-risk and regulated activities (e.g. dangerous acts, fraud and scams, counterfeit goods, and regulated goods and services); nudity and sexual activities; mental health; and youth safety.

In this role, you will be part of a global Trust & Safety organization, helping lead our efforts to ensure that our BHRC policies protect the safety of our users while balancing free expression and enabling responsible commercial growth. You will establish and iterate policies governing the TikTok platform, provide subject matter expertise on the intersection of technology, media, health, and regulatory trends, and advise on how to unlock safe monetization within the respective policy domains.

Responsibilities:

- Craft new and update existing content policies across the BHRC portfolio — covering high-risk and regulated activities (e.g. dangerous acts, frauds and scams, counterfeit, and regulated goods and services), nudity and sexual activities, mental health, and youth safety — for TikTok's global community.

- Collaborate with Policy Enforcement, Regional Policy, Product teams to improve content policies and streamline enforcement and processes.

- Collaborate with Monetization and Commerce teams to define the policy boundaries for advertising, branded content, and creator monetization within BHRC domains, supporting the responsible opening of revenue opportunities where content is commercially viable but safety-compliant.

- Engage with Legal and Public Policy teams to ensure compliance with key regulations and be a consultant for any potential new regulations or government regulatory requests.

- Remain up-to-date on industry trends and emerging issues in the BHRC space and design policies & policy positions to address them on platform where necessary.

- Serve as the subject matter expert representative for BHRC efforts, in coordination with Regional Policy, Public Policy, Comms, and/or Outreach & Partnerships.

- Engage with external stakeholders to incorporate outside expertise into TikTok’s platform policies.

- Support the execution of the strategic vision for the BHRC team, working cross-functionally with other team members to optimize policy iteration, implementation, and training procedures to deliver high-quality results.
