Job Description

The Policy Scaling team serves as an essential governance function and bridges from policy principle to actual enforcement, ensuring that policies reflect and account for the nuances of actual content and user behavior, are consistently applied, and are continuously improved.

We are looking for a Policy Lead to drive governance and consistency of Violent and Criminal Behaviours policy enforcement across all surfaces and moderation methods. This role will lead a team of Policy Managers translating Violent and Criminal Behaviours policy intent into actionable guidance, producing high-quality evaluation data, and providing subject-matter expertise across human and automated workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead High-Quality Labeling & Evaluation Data: Lead your Violent and Criminal Behaviours issue area team on production of high-confidence labeled datasets to support policy performance evaluation across features and identify areas of ambiguity that need to be addressed through policy guidance.
• Maintain Policy Guidance: Author and maintain internal Violent and Criminal Behaviours policy guidance to ensure T&S teams are aligned on how to apply policies across a range of methodologies.
• Cross-Method Consistency Oversight: Evaluate how Violent and Criminal Behaviours policies are applied across human moderation, automation, and hybrid workflows — identifying gaps, drift, or unintended inconsistencies.
• Escalation Support: Provide subject-matter guidance and support to escalation teams handling high-complexity, nuanced Violent and Criminal Behaviours trends and enforcement decisions within your issue area.
• Structured Feedback for Policy Development: Identify ambiguity, operational friction, emerging harm patterns, and unintended consequences in Violent and Criminal Behaviours enforcement — and provide structured feedback to refine policy drafting.

Minimum Qualification(s):

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Trust & Safety Policy, or a Content Policy field.
• Demonstrated ability to translate policy language into clear, actionable guidance and labeled datasets, particularly within the Violent and Criminal Behaviours policy space.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail, particularly in evaluating content at scale and identifying patterns of inconsistency or drift in Violent and Criminal Behaviours enforcement.
• Deep understanding of Information Integrity policy challenges and enforcement dynamics on social media platforms.
• Ability to draft precise internal documentation, case banks, and policy notices related to Information Integrity content and enforcement.
• Cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience working alongside policy, product, enforcement, data science, and engineering teams to address Information Integrity policy challenges.
• Technical aptitude and comfort navigating moderation tools, labeling platforms, and data analysis workflows used to support Information Integrity policy enforcement and evaluation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing teams at a tech company, especially in Trust & Safety
• Experience working across multiple surfaces (feed, search, live, DMs, etc.) or multiple regions.
• Background in quality assurance, audit, or compliance within a technology or content moderation environment.
