Project Context and Scope
Provide technical support to the RPLO in the preparation of capacity building, training materials, monitoring tools for Country Offices, in the region in respect to policy development, the UN Network for Migration (UNNM), and the implementation of the Global Compact for Migration (GCM).
Support the organization and coordination of meetings, consultations, and communication with external partners, including regional UN agencies, Regional Economic Communities (RECs), donors, and other stakeholders relevant to IOM priorities.
Contribute to the drafting and review of project proposals and concept notes developed in the region, related to policy, research, international migration law, and UNNM-related issues as requested.
Compile and share information, research, and best practices on migration policy developments efforts and opportunities at global, regional, and country levels.
Draft and contribute to internal reports, presentations, talking points, speeches, statements and briefings as relevant.
Support ongoing knowledge management initiatives at the RO and COs in the region, including the organization and maintenance of relevant documentation, tools, and reference materials.
Support the coordination and tracking of incoming requests and correspondence from internal and external stakeholders, ensuring timely follow-up as appropriate.
Participate in workshops and meetings related to the technical area of the consultancy, as required by the RPLO and/or the Deputy Regional Director (DRD) for Operations.
Perform other consultancy-related tasks as assigned by the supervisor within the scope of the Terms of Reference.
Timeliness and quality of support provided to RO and HQ initiatives within technical expertise.
Successful delivery of programme outputs due within the consultancy period
Compliance with EU requirements, including visibility.
Effective team and resource management including HR and coordination aspects.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
Bachelor’s degree in political or social sciences, Business Administration, Migration Studies, International Relations, Law, or related field with four years of relevant professional experience; or
Experience
Experience in the field of migration issues, including operational and field experience, with project management, policy development and liaison, and other relevant technical experience;
Skills
Strong writing and analytical skills, including the development of projects and policies;
Languages
For this consultancy, fluency in English is required (oral and written).

IOM covers Consultants against occupational accidents and illnesses under the Compensation Plan (CP), free of charge, for the duration of the consultancy. IOM does not provide evacuation or medical insurance for reasons related to non-occupational accidents and illnesses. Consultants are responsible for their own medical insurance for non-occupational accident or illness and will be required to provide written proof of such coverage before commencing work.
