Description

The Commonwealth of Kentucky, Office of State Budget Director is seeking a Policy and Budget Analyst III. This
position will work along side staff with responsibilities including the preparation, implementation and
monitoring of the Executive Branch budget.

Responsibilities of the Policy and Budget Analyst III include:
  • Review and analysis of agency biennial budget request.
  • Preparation of biennial budget request for assigned agencies within the Executive Branch
  • Monitor legislative action during General Assembly Sessions including tracking of proposed changes to Executive Branch budget request.
  • Process requests from assigned agencies including budget modification documents, documents for capital projects.

Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION:
Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:
Three years of experience in statewide budgeting in either the state budget office, the Legislative Research Commission's budget-related entities, an agency budget office, or in the executive or legislative budget offices of another state government.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:
NONE

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION:
Professional experience in budget preparation, budget administration, accounting, and/or financial analysis will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

NONE

Working Conditions

Incumbents working in this job title primarily perform duties in an office setting. Occasional travel may be required.

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
