We’re looking for a dedicated Police Officer 1 or 2 to join our team who is ready to protect and serve with courage and commitment. In this role, you’ll provide the full range of police services, including enforcing laws, investigating crimes and accidents, and responding to emergencies.

No experience or training is required.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
Possession of a current Louisiana driver's license.
Willingness and ability to attain a Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification.
An applicant who has been convicted of a felony or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws is granted.

Job Duties
As a Police Officer, you will support a safe environment through proactive patrol, emergency response, and law enforcement. In this role, you will:
Position-Specific Details
Appointment Type: This position will be filled as a Probationary Appointment.
Location: South Hall, Louisiana Tech University. 1104 Hergot Ave, Ruston, LA 71272.
Work Schedule: Normal work hours will be 6:00am – 6:00pm (day shift) or 6:00pm – 6:00am (night shift). Currently, officers remain on a shift for an academic quarter, then may be changed to the other shift. Officers are also required to work special events and details as deemed necessary and assigned.
Compensation: The Police Officer 1 offers a Special Entrance Rate of 18.58/hr. and the Police Officer 2 offers a Special Entrance Rate of 19.88/hr. The job title and salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
Career Progression: As part of a Career Progression Group,the vacancy may be filled from this recruitment as a Police Officer 1 or Police Officer 2, depending on the selected applicant's level of experience.
