Responsible for coordinating student placements and ensuring the effective management of all students experiences in Lexington Medical Center's Physician Network. To include: job shadowing, clinical rotations, internships, and education activities as appropriate. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with area technical schools, colleges, and health science programs.

Works closely with HR and practice managers to ensure compliance with all policies and procedures, and facilitates experiences appropriate to the educational level of the student, including appropriate placements with qualified preceptors.

Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Education, Healthcare, or related field

Minimum Years of Experience: 1 Year of related experience

Substitutable Education & Experience: None.

Required Certifications/Licensure: None.

Required Training: Clerical skills with emphasis in resource management;

Strong computer skills, scheduling, organizing, as well as analysis and evaluation techniques.

Essential Functions

  • Identifies local and regional academic partnership opportunities to support Lexington Medical Center Physician Network workforce needs
  • Acts as liaison between academic program representatives (school instructors, clinical coordinators, etc.) physician practices and LMC’s Human Resources department
  • Collaborates with designated representatives from various departments, and physician practices to facilitate a standardized student coordination processes
  • Communicates via email, phone and/or in person with practice managers and to develop student placements
  • Coordinates with practice managers to determine the numbers of student placements avilable each semester, level, and type of experience needed.
  • Identify facility requirements at each clinical placement location, such as orientation and EHR training, and communicates entry requirements to students in a timely manner. Keeps a record of these facility requirements, updating them as required
  • Adapts creative solutions to maximize capacity and prioritize student placements according to workforce needs
  • Ensures appropriate affiliation agreements are in place for all student experiences in accordance with Lexington Medical Center’s policy and procedures. Assists in the management of program affiliation agreements, reviewing regularly to maintain primary academic partnerships according to workforce demand

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Tracks student experiences and provides reports and information as requested by leadership
  • Uses outcome measures and customer feedback to identify opportunities for improvement. Leads/coordinates/participates in the development and implementation of action plans and outcome measures to improve educational programs
  • Develops reviews and analyzes feedback from student experience evaluations to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Develops strategies to obtain feedback to aid in the recruitment and retention of students
  • Ensures the continued growth and development of LMC’s partnerships with area health science schools and colleges through effective communication and information sharing.
  • Develops brochures and website, in conjunction with marketing, advertising programs and student experience offerings
  • Provides appropriate climate for learning and facilitates the adult learning process
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
