The Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University is seeking a dynamic, experienced physician leader to serve as Residency Program Director This is an exceptional opportunity to lead and shape a long-standing ACGME-accredited PM&R residency program in a growing department within a collaborative academic health system. Position Highlights• Serve as Residency Program Director overseeing all aspects of the PM&R training program• Provide strategic leadership for curriculum development, accreditation compliance, and program growth• Mentor and evaluate residents, fostering a culture of academic excellence and professional development• Collaborate with departmental leadership on faculty development, recruitment, and scholarly activity• Participate in clinical care, teaching, and research aligned with academic interests Responsibilities• Ensure full compliance with ACGME requirements and standards• Lead program evaluation, continuous improvement initiatives, and accreditation readiness• Oversee resident recruitment, selection, and onboarding• Develop and enhance didactic curriculum, rotations, and educational innovation• Promote resident scholarly activity, including research and quality improvement projects• Maintain a supportive and inclusive learning environment
Candidate Qualifications• MD or DO degree; Board Certified in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation• Eligible for or currently holding a faculty appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor level• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an academic PM&R role• Prior experience in graduate medical education leadership (Associate Program Director or Program Director preferred)• Demonstrated commitment to education, mentorship, and academic medicine• Eligible for medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania About the Department & Institution• Established in 1928, the PM&R program offers diverse clinical training sites• Strong interdisciplinary collaboration with specialties including neurology, orthopedics, pain management, and rehabilitation therapies• Opportunities for research, innovation, and academic advancement• Supportive infrastructure including dedicated program coordination and institutional GME resources• Faculty are actively engaged in presenting scholarly reports at regional, national, and international meetings, publishing scholarly manuscripts and textbooks, and pursuing a variety of clinically relevant research projects
