PMO Specialist

The Data & AI department drives business value through optimized data management and data usage, BI & reporting, analysis services, and AI powered solutions.

As a PMO Specialist, you play a key role in driving and developing development portfolio and project management practices. You ensure that project costs, forecasts and resource utilization are transparent and well‑controlled, supporting sound financial management and enabling informed decision‑making. Through active participation in Veikkaus level development portfolio governance, you help prioritize initiatives, secure the optimal use of Data and AI resources, and provide clear portfolio‑level visibility from development increments to quarterly and strategic views. You also contribute to budgeting and cost analyses, support consistent and impactful Data & AI services communication, and coordinate cross‑functional activities and tools, strengthening collaboration, alignment and execution across projects and stakeholders.

Main responsibilities

• Validate and manage project costs, maintain forecasts, drive and support resource planning and follow‑up for projects
• Produce and maintain Data & AI department‑level views and reporting for the development portfolio and projects
• Lead the development and operative budget planning, monitoring and regular communication with key stakeholders
• Own the portfolio and project prioritization practices within the Data & AI department and coordinate related activities with key stakeholders across Veikkaus.
• Plan and create Data & AI communications, such as intranet articles, success stories and project updates
• Help optimize cross‑functional ways of working and tools (e.g. reporting and planning practices, Jira and project template development)

You will thrive in this position if you have

• Experience in project and project portfolio management activities, purchase processes and internal reporting
• Solid knowledge of project and portfolio management tools, as well as procurement and financial reporting systems
• A proactive, solution‑oriented, detail‑conscious and customer‑centric working style
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders, both technical and non‑technical, from specialists to senior management
• Relevant education and/or certifications in project management, IT or business

Considered an advantage

• Experience with Oracle ERP
• Familiarity with Jira
• Understanding of Data & AI related services and solutions

The position is located at Veikkaus’ headquarters in Pohjois-Haaga, Helsinki. We work flexibly in a hybrid model with three on-site days per week.
