Job Description

Position: PMO Manager – Innovation & Portfolio (Europe)

Location: Amsterdam, NL (Hybrid)

About the position

This role exists to help build and embed a fit-for-purpose PMO capability for the European (EU) business, enabling disciplined, high-quality execution of innovation and portfolio priorities. As Flora Food Group continues to scale consumer-led innovation, the EU business requires stronger cross-functional orchestration across Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain, Finance and Operations.

Reporting to the Global PMO Lead (dotted line - Global Head of P&P / Europe Head of Marketing), the PMO Manager acts as a foundational builder of this capability – establishing robust ways of working, driving executional discipline, and ensuring projects land on time, in full, and with clear accountability.

This role is critical to reducing execution risk, accelerating speed-to-market, and increasing transparency on resource allocation – enabling functional leaders to focus on decision-making rather than coordination.

Operating at the intersection of strategy and execution, you will establish a European PMO operating model aligned to global P&P standards, tailored to local business needs. You will drive consistency, transparency and rigor to how innovation and portfolio initiatives are planned, governed and delivered.

You will act as the executional backbone for priority initiatives - ensuring cross-functional teams deliver against clear timelines, milestones and decision gates - while serving as the single source of truth for execution status, risks and delivery confidence across the EU portfolio agenda.

You are accountable for execution and orchestration - not project content ownership. Strategic directions remain with Marketing and Business leads; this role ensures the work lands. You simplify and enable - never add unnecessary complexity.

What you’ll do:

PMO set-up & governance

  • Define and implement a European PMO framework aligned to global P&P standards.
  • Embed common ways of working across initiatives (timelines, milestones, gates, tracking).
  • Optimise governance cadences (weekly drumbeats, monthly gate reviews, escalation forums) with clear roles and decision outputs.
  • Ensure data quality, discipline and follow-through across portfolio and project management systems.

End-to-end project & activity management

  • Own planning and orchestration of priority innovation and portfolio initiatives (G0-G5), including future value creation initiatives.
  • Build integrated project timelines based on briefs, trade windows and lead times.
  • Define critical paths, dependencies and resource requirements across initiatives.
  • Surface risks, delays and trade-offs early; drive mitigation and escalation.
  • Lead structured project drumbeats, with clear actions, owners and accountability.

Cross-functional leadership & execution excellence

  • Act as the central coordination point across functions (Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain [including P&I and T&I teams], Quality, Finance, Procurement and Operations).
  • Drive cross-functional accountability for key deliverables (e.g. briefs, business cases, system data, readiness milestones).
  • Prepare decision-ready inputs for governance forums and senior updates.
  • Drive continuous improvement in execution practices, lead times and delivery performance.

Capability building

  • Build the EUPMO capability over time (team, tools, templates, playbooks) as the hub scales.
  • Role-model execution discipline, pragmatic problem-solving and collaborative leadership.

What Does It Take to Be Successful?

You combine strong project management fundamentals with the ability to operate confidently in complex, cross-functional FMCG environments, and are comfortable building structure where it does not yet exist, bringing clarity and momentum to ambiguous situations. With 5–10+ years of experience in project, program or PMO roles, you bring hands-on expertise in managing end-to-end innovation, transformation or portfolio initiatives, as well as experience owning PMO data quality, reporting cadence and execution dashboards and setting up or scaling PMO structures. You have a strong understanding of stage-gate models, innovation lifecycles and launch readiness, and are confident influencing senior stakeholders without direct authority.

A strong systems thinker, you design simple, scalable ways of working and demonstrate excellent planning, prioritisation and execution discipline. You are a confident facilitator and communicator across senior and cross-functional stakeholders, with a high accountability mindset and a pragmatic, solution-oriented and resilient approach under pressure. You are action-driven, comfortable moving between helicopter view and operational detail, and energised by building capability and enabling others to succeed, while valuing transparency, follow-through and continuous improvement.
