PMO Director Island Project

Location: Phuket, Thailand

Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic PMO Director to lead and oversee the Project for the Island Project. This key leadership role is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of large-scale construction and design initiatives, focusing on strategic direction, governance, resource management, and risk mitigation. The PMO Director will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence, aligning project activities with business objectives, and ensuring timely, within-budget delivery.

Responsibilities:

• Establish and manage the PMO framework, governance structures, and reporting standards to align with organizational goals.
• Implement standardized project management processes to ensure consistency and quality.
• Align project objectives with the strategic vision of the Island Project and collaborate with senior leadership to prioritize activities.
• Oversee project budgets, manage cost controls, and implement financial forecasting.
• Monitor project schedules, resolve delays, and ensure milestones are met on time.
• Lead risk identification, assessment, and mitigation across project stages.
• Act as the liaison between project teams, contractors, senior management, and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication.
• Develop and track KPIs to evaluate project and team performance, fostering continuous improvement.
• Mentor project management teams and promote professional growth.
• Oversee contractors, consultants, and vendors, ensuring alignment with project timelines and budgets.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and quality control measures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
• PMP, PgMP, or other recognized project management certifications preferred.
• 15+ years of experience managing large-scale infrastructure, construction, or real estate projects, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or project management role.
• Proven experience overseeing multimillion-dollar projects and cross-functional teams.
• Previous experience with island or resort development is a strong plus.
• Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, PMI, Lean).
• Expertise in budgeting, risk management, and performance monitoring for large-scale projects.
• Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
• Fluency in both English and Thai (preferred).
