Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Director of the Portfolio Management Office (PMO ) reports directly to the DGSOM Executive Director Academic Department Administration who reports to the CFO/Sr. Dean of Finance and Administration. Under the leadership of the Executive Director, The PMO Director is responsible for establishing, leading, and optimizing a small PMO that supports strategic project execution across the organization. This role ensures projects are aligned with business priorities, delivered on time and within budget, and follow standardized project management practices.

The PMO Director will oversee project governance, portfolio visibility, resource coordination, and continuous improvement of project management capabilities across the organization. This position has four direct reports.


Annual Salary Range: $116,300.00 – 264,600.00


Job Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Engineering, or related field
  • 8 - 12 years of experience in project management or program management
  • 3 - 5 years of experience leading or managing a PMO or project portfolio
  • Strategic planning and portfolio management experience
  • Project governance and methodology development experience
  • Leadership and team development experience
  • Risk management and problem solving experience
  • Executive communication and stakeholder management experience
  • Budget and resource management experience
  • Change management experience
  • Data-driven decision-making experience
  • Ability to work in a collaborative cross-functional environment
  • Ability to interact with senior leadership and business units
  • Ability to have oversight of multiple simultaneous projects

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree or MBA
  • PMP (Project Management Professional), PgMP or PMI-ACP, or Agile/Scrum certifications
