Job Description

Groot, Inc., a Waste Connections company, has an immediate opening for a 2nd Shift - PM Mechanic to join our team in Round Lake Park, IL.

Our PM Mechanic will work directly with the Maintenance Manager to ensure safe diagnostics and repair of our truck fleet. We seek individuals with a leadership mentality and desire to grow with promotional opportunities in this role.

Pay rate: $30.10 per hour plus approximately 5-10 hours of overtime weekly (overtime is time and a half after 40).

Schedule: 2:00pm-10:30pm, Monday-Friday with occasional Saturdays.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs repairs (including electrical and hydraulic systems) and assigned preventive maintenance services.

  • Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.

  • Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.

  • Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.

  • Reviews and completes repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.

  • Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.

  • Other job related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Valid Class A or B CDL with clean driving record.

  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.

  • Ability to lift at least 50lbs repeatedly.
