PermanentThe PM Execution Supervisor is responsible for the leadership, safety, quality, and operational performance of a geographically dispersed team of Preventative Maintenance (PM) Technicians. This role provides day-to-day oversight and coaching to field personnel, ensuring consistent execution of preventative maintenance programs while supporting customer equipment reliability and business objectives.

The Supervisor serves as the primary leader for PM technicians across the territory, balancing employee engagement, customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and quality outcomes. Regular travel throughout the assigned territory is required to maintain strong relationships with technicians, support field execution, provide coaching, and ensure consistent adherence to Finning safety and operational standards.

  • Champion a culture of safety through visible leadership, field engagement, safety observations, and compliance with all company safety policies and NSC standards.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a remote team of Preventative Maintenance Technicians across multiple regions, fostering accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular field visits to maintain close connections with technicians, support performance development, and ensure consistent operational execution.
  • Oversee PM planning and execution activities to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to established quality standards.
  • Ensure PM inspections are completed accurately and consistently, identifying potential equipment issues and creating value for customers through timely repair recommendations.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for PM technicians, assisting with technical, operational, customer, and scheduling challenges.
  • Collaborate with Service Operations, Planning, Sales, and Customer Support teams to solve customer equipment needs and improve overall customer experience.
  • Drive operational excellence through process improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Monitor and manage technician utilization, manpower availability, backlog opportunities, and territory coverage requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs, contamination control standards, documentation requirements, and timekeeping processes.

Day-to-Day Activities

  • Monitor field execution activities and technician performance across the assigned territory.
  • Review PM inspection findings and provide coaching to improve consistency and quality.
  • Travel to customer locations and branch operations to support technicians and strengthen customer relationships.
  • Coordinate manpower allocation and support workforce planning activities.
  • Assist technicians in resolving technical, operational, and customer service challenges.
  • Review safety observations, quality metrics, and performance trends.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address customer needs and remove barriers to execution.
  • Track KPI performance and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance PM program effectiveness and customer value.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing field-based or remote workforces.
  • Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop employees across multiple locations.
  • Strong safety leadership and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to balance operational requirements and customer needs.
  • Strong understanding of preventative maintenance programs, equipment inspections, and service operations.
  • Experience managing operational KPIs and driving measurable results.
  • Familiarity with collective agreements and performance management processes is considered an asset.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory.
  • Journeyperson Trade Certification (HET, Welding, Machinist, or related discipline) considered an asset.
