As Plumbing Supervisor, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our resort running seamlessly behind the scenes. From guest rooms and public areas to essential water systems and infrastructure, you’ll lead the team responsible for ensuring everything flows exactly as it should.
Working closely with the Head of Engineering, you’ll oversee the day-to-day plumbing operation, lead and support your team, and take ownership of everything from preventative maintenance through to complex water reticulation projects.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Lead the Plumbing team, allocating tasks, monitoring progress and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
Keep the resort running smoothly, overseeing plumbing maintenance, repairs, equipment and water systems while minimising disruption to guests and operations.
Work collaboratively across the resort, partnering with Engineering, other trades, hotel operations, contractors and management to get the job done.
Stay one step ahead, following preventative maintenance schedules, identifying potential issues and proactively finding ways to improve efficiency and reliability.
Develop and support your team, providing training and mentoring to junior plumbers while assisting with performance, productivity and weekend coverage.
Champion safety, compliance and presentation, ensuring plumbing work meets relevant standards and legislation while maintaining a clean, safe environment and representing the InterContinental brand with pride.
Base rate $47.12 + penalties + loading

To be successful in this full-time role, you’ll have:
Trade qualification in plumbing and gas
Queensland safety induction White Card
Queensland drivers license (full open license)
Experience using systems including Microsoft Office, Email, Reporting tools (HotSoS, Hardcat)
Working knowledge of industrial and domestic equipment including building equipment and hand tools
Physical fitness as you’ll be on your feet most of the day, including bending and kneeling frequently and often working in a range of weather conditions (heat, rain etc.)
Highly developed communication skills to interact with colleagues and guests
