About this role:

As a Licensed Service Plumber, you will diagnose and repair complex plumbing issues, install and connect systems and appliances, and ensure all work meets local codes and regulations. You will communicate with homeowners to provide solutions and options, interpret blueprints for accurate installations, and perform maintenance to prevent future problems. Adaptability and problem-solving skills are essential for handling diverse situations and evolving requirements.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the company’s designated licensed plumbing qualifier
• Review completed plumbing work for code compliance and quality standards.
• Provide technical oversight and approval of installations, repairs, and system designs.
• Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal plumbing regulations.
• Support permitting processes, inspections, and regulatory documentation.
• Collaborate with management, dispatch, and field technicians to maintain best practices.
• Identify training opportunities and provide technical feedback to improve workmanship.
• Maintain active plumbing license in good standing.

What This Role Does Not Include

• No physical plumbing labor or installations.
• No service call dispatch responsibilities.
• No heavy lifting or field technician duties.
• Limited or no on-call requirements (company specific).

Qualifications

• Active P-1 [State] Plumbing License (NC preferred).
• Strong knowledge of plumbing codes, compliance, and safety standards.
• Experience reviewing installations or supervising plumbing teams preferred.
• Ability to document findings and communicate clearly with management and technicians.
• Professional, ethical decision-making regarding code compliance.

Preferred Experience

• Previous role as plumbing supervisor, inspector, or qualifying license holder.
• Experience working with residential or light commercial service companies.
• Familiarity with permit processes and inspections in North Carolina.

Work Environment

• Primarily office-based or remote oversight role.
• Occasional site visits for inspections or quality reviews.
• Flexible schedule depending on company needs.
