The Plumbing/HVAC Helper assists licensed plumbers, HVAC technicians, and installers with the installation, maintenance, repair, and replacement of plumbing and HVAC systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This entry-level position provides hands-on experience while supporting field crews in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality service to customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist plumbers and HVAC technicians with installations, repairs, and maintenance projects.
  • Transport tools, equipment, and materials to and from job sites.
  • Load, unload, and organize materials and supplies.
  • Help install piping, ductwork, fixtures, equipment, and related components.
  • Assist with troubleshooting plumbing and HVAC system issues.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks such as cleaning coils, changing filters, flushing lines, and cleaning work areas.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment safely under supervision.
  • Maintain a clean and organized job site.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
  • Accurately complete assigned tasks and communicate progress to supervisors.
  • Provide excellent customer service while representing the company professionally.
  • Attend training sessions and participate in ongoing skills development.
Requirements
Required
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • At least 1 year of previous plumbing and or HVAC experience.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and confined spaces.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
  • Strong work ethic, punctuality, and dependability.
Preferred
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools.
  • OSHA 10 certification (or willingness to obtain).
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including climbing ladders, kneeling, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Willingness to learn plumbing and HVAC trade skills through hands-on training.
Working Conditions
  • Work performed indoors and outdoors in residential, commercial, and industrial environments.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures, dust, noise, and construction-related hazards.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Regular standing, walking, climbing, crouching, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Ability to safely use ladders and work at heights when required.


Compensation: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
