Revit Piping / Plumbing BIM Modeler / Detailer (VDC)

Oak Ridge, TN 5/19/2026

Duties and Responsibilities

· Develop and maintain detailed 3D BIM models, shop drawings, and installation drawings for piping and plumbing systems using Autodesk Revit and Fabrication MEP.

· Produce coordinated, fabrication-ready models that support prefabrication, modularization, and field installation on fast-track, mission-critical projects.

· Collaborate with engineering, field operations, and multi-trade teams to ensure accurate system routing and constructability within a BIM/VDC environment.

· Participate in clash detection and coordination efforts, resolving conflicts in high-density piping layouts.

· Assist with project setup, model organization, and data management to support efficient BIM execution and downstream fabrication processes.

· Support projects through all phases—from design and coordination through construction and closeout—ensuring alignment with schedules and deliverables.

· Interface with fabrication shops and field teams to ensure models align with spool drawings, installation sequencing, and prefabrication strategies.

Skills and Qualifications

· Strong knowledge of piping and plumbing systems, including process piping, hydronic systems, and domestic water, sanitary, and vent systems in commercial or mission-critical facilities.

· Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and Fabrication MEP, with working knowledge of Navisworks, and Bluebeam.

· Experience with BIM coordination, clash detection, and multi-trade model integration in high-density environments.

· Ability to interpret construction documents, P&IDs, and specifications and translate them into accurate, constructible models.

· Familiarity with piping fabrication workflows, including spool drawings and installation sequencing.

· Detail-oriented with the ability to perform in fast-paced, schedule-driven project environments.

Education and Experience

· Minimum 1-2 years of BIM/Revit experience in piping/plumbing modeling or detailing.

· Preferred 3-5+ years of field experience in piping or plumbing installation or fabrication (pipefitter, plumber, welder, etc.).

· Experience with fabrication-driven BIM workflows and prefabrication is strongly preferred.

· Experience supporting hyperscale, data center, industrial, or mission-critical facilities is highly desirable.

  • Maintain and apply company BIM standards, templates, and workflows to ensure consistency, accuracy, and quality of all deliverables.

  • Assist with project setup, model organization, and data management to support efficient BIM execution and downstream fabrication processes.

  • Interface with fabrication shops and field teams to ensure model outputs align with fabrication methods, installation sequencing, and prefabrication strategies.
