Job Description
Southern Mechanical is looking for a skilled and dependable Plumber/Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with plumbing installation, repair, maintenance, pipe fitting, and welding. This position requires the ability to read plans and drawings, work safely with various tools and equipment, and complete projects to professional standards.

What You'll Do:
- Install, repair, maintain, and troubleshoot plumbing systems and piping
- Perform pipe fitting, cutting, threading, soldering, brazing, and welding
- Perform MIG, TIG, stick, or other applicable welding processes
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and piping diagrams
- Measure, cut, fit, and assemble pipes and related components
- Inspect completed work for leaks, defects, and proper installation
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and plumbing equipment safely
- Follow OSHA, company, and job-site safety requirements
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Work independently or as part of a team to meet project deadlines
- Perform other plumbing, pipefitting, and welding duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a plumber, pipefitter, welder, or in a similar skilled-trades position
- Valid plumbing certification/license as required by state or local regulations
- Welding certification preferred or required, depending on job duties.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, piping materials, fittings, and welding procedures
- Ability to safely operate plumbing and welding tools and equipment
- Valid driver's license preferred
- Ability to lift equipment/materials and perform physical work as required
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
Preferred Certifications
- Journeyman or Master Plumber License
- AWS welding certification
- Pipe welding certification
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- Other applicable trade certifications
