Plumber - Rotating Shifts - Nights & Days

Under the direction of the Supervisor and Lead Plumber, this role is responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance of plumbing, heating, and piping systems throughout the facility.

Key duties include:

• Installing, maintaining, and repairing domestic water, sewer, storm drainage, and heating distribution systems using various plumbing methods and materials.
• Installing and repairing pipe insulation, including securing and covering piping systems.
• Maintaining and repairing perimeter heating systems and plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, showers, eye wash stations, and medical gas outlets.
• Servicing standpipe, sprinkler, medical gas, oxygen, and suction systems.
• Cleaning and clearing drains and waste lines.
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and technical schematics to trace and troubleshoot existing systems.
• Supporting equipment shutdowns for contractor work and ensuring proper system operation.
• Following all safety standards, infection control requirements (ICRA), and established maintenance procedures while performing work.

This is the full time rotating position located at NewYork-Presbyterian / Columbia University Irving Medical Center.

Shift info:

Saturday & Sunday: 12:00 am to 8:00 am

Monday - Wednesday: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm

Required Criteria

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of three (3) years of plumbing experience
• New York City FireDepartment Certificate of Fitness for Fireguard F-60 within theprobation period.
• ASSE 6040 Medical Gas System Maintenance certification within 15 months of hire.
• New York City FireDepartment Certificate of Fitness for Torch Use of FlammableGases G-60 within theprobation period.
• New York City FireDepartment Certificate of Fitness for Standpipe/Sprinkler System S-12/S-13 within the probation period.
• Variable work shifts

Salary Range:

$45.24-$47.68/Hourly
