Department:

Rail plays a key part in the business that has been providing trusted rail infrastructure services for more than 30 years. Delivering drainage, vegetation and minor civils solutions across the Transport For London network, the team are dedicated to ensuring the safety, reliability, and accessibility of the rail environment for the millions of passengers who rely on it every day.

Purpose of the role:

We are looking for a Night plumber to work on various projects within our Rail Sector based out of Rainham. This role is working under the Reactive works manager, and you will be responsible for carrying out urgent repairs to plumbing & drainage systems mainly on London Underground and TfL Sites and other contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond quickly to emergency plumbing and drainage issues during night shifts to minimise service disruption.
  • Carry out reactive maintenance on toilets, pipework, pumps, valves, cisterns, and underground drainage systems.
  • Ensure all work complies with TfL standards, safety regulations, and company procedures.
  • Provide real-time job updates and completion reports to the Control Centre.
  • Identify root causes of faults and advise on any required follow-up or preventative work.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used
  • Ensure all works are carried out in line with approved method statements and safe system of work under the health and safety regulations.
  • Liaising with wide range internal staff and providing good customer service to the general public and the client.

Key Requirements

Skills & Experience:

  • You will be qualified to a minimum of Level 2 in plumbing services with an accredited NVQ training establishment and hold recognised certification
  • Full UK driving licence
  • You will need to be prepared to undergo training in core skills and obtain a Sentinel railway Industry Common Induction (ICI).
