Job Description

FULL-TIME DAYS

The Plumber performs plumbing installations, renovations and/or repairs throughout the Hospital and associated properties. Completes established

competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

General Functions:

• Performs plumbing assignments for facility
• Installs, repairs and maintains plumbing system in hospital, new installations and replaced old fixtures
• Studies blueprints, plumbing diagrams, etc. and installs plumbing systems and fixtures as ordered
• Operates and maintains any equipment in the plumbing field
• Performs tests to insure installations comply with safety regulations and codes
• Maintains PM program on plumbing system in hospital
• Takes lead role in emergency repairs and work crews
• Operates and maintains generators
• Works on generators and A/C chillers , maintain and tests
• Utilizes resources efficiently and effectively
• Maintains safe environment
• Addresses patient population-specific needs
• Participates in Performance Improvement activities

MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School Graduate or equivalent

PREFERRED EDUCATION: Trade School

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 3 to 5 years in plumbing trade.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Basic knowledge in plumbing, electrical and carpentry

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Possession of current Texas Journeyman Plumber license
