ASRC Federal Communications is seeking a Plumber for our ISS2 contact supporting our Air Force customer. This position is located on Wake Island. It’s a rotational position in which the selected employee will work a schedule of 3 months on the island and one month off unpaid, Wake Island is 2,100 miles away from HNL. While working on-site housing is provided in the form of a dormitory facility. All meals are furnished through the cafeteria. You are responsible for the flight from your home base to HNL. Transportation to wake island is provided by government sponsored aircraft. This is a negotiated union position.

The Plumber inspects repairs, install, modifies, and maintains plumbing fixtures in water supply and drainage systems. Performs general plumbing and assorted duties necessary to maintain, repair, or upgrade all facilities and structures.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:
• Installs, maintains, and/or repairs pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and drainage systems according to specifications and plumbing codes.
• Cuts openings in walls, floors, or ceilings to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings.
• Assembles, and installs valves, pipe fittings, and pipes composed of metals such as iron, steel, copper, and lead, and nonmetals such as glass, vitrified clay, and plastic using power and hand tools.
• Installs and repairs plumbing fixtures such as sinks, toilets, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposal units, dishwashers, and faucets. Repairs or replaces burst pipes and opens clogged drains.
• Works from blueprints, drawings, models, or verbal and written instructions to plan and lay out work.
• Cuts and threads pipe, using pipe cutters, cutting torch, and threading machines. Bends pipe to required angle by hand or using a bending machine.
• Performs related work as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Journeyman plumber license with five (5) years' experience in commercial plumbing systems.
• Backflow Prevention Certification/Training or the ability to obtain certification within six (6) months of hire.
• Valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
• U.S. citizen.
• Must pass a background check, drug screening, fingerprints, and a fit-for-duty physical exam; candidates must be medically cleared for long-term residency in a remote location with limited access to healthcare.
Preferred
• Backflow Prevention Certification/Training.
• Fire Pumps/Sprinkler Systems Certification/Training
