Plessey are looking to recruit an experienced and dependable Plumber to join our Construction & Maintenance Team. The role will support refurbishment projects as well as carry out day-to-day plumbing maintenance across our facilities. The successful candidate will help ensure all plumbing systems are safe, compliant, and fully operational.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair works across refurbishment and construction projects.
  • Support day-to-day plumbing maintenance tasks across site.
  • Install, repair, and maintain pipework, drainage, sanitary ware, and water systems.
  • Diagnose and rectify plumbing faults efficiently.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with current regulations and company standards.
  • Assist with testing, commissioning, and inspections where required.
  • Work closely with other trades and members of the construction team.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and materials used.
  • Follow all health & safety procedures and site rules.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Level 3 in Plumbing & Heating, City & Guilds in Plumbing, or equivalent recognised qualification.
  • Proven experience as a plumber in construction, refurbishment, commercial, or maintenance environments.
  • Experience or exposure to LPHW/MPHW plant and good knowledge of hot and cold water systems, drainage, and general plumbing services.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills with a focus on quality workmanship and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of health & safety requirements, including safe isolation, dynamic risk assessments, PPE use, and permit-to-work systems.
  • Able to respond to emergencies such as leaks, bursts, flooding, or contamination events.
  • Supports water efficiency, spill prevention, and waste minimisation initiatives.
  • Reliable, punctual, professional, and flexible to changing workload demands.
  • Effective communicator, able to coordinate work around production schedules.
  • Works well independently and as part of a team; methodical, calm under pressure, and customer-focused.
