As a Plumber, you will install,repairandmaintainplumbing systems, inspect

equipment, troubleshoot issues and ensure compliance with building codes and safety standards. You will work closely with a team of skilled tradespeopleandsupervisors to ensure the proper installation and maintenance of plumbing systems. Plumbers contribute indirectly to patient care by ensuring the functionality of critical systems, such as water supply and fire protection, whichimpactsafety and hygiene in healthcare environments. This position provides opportunities for growth, with access to work on complex systems to further yourexpertise

A caregiver in this position works Monday-Friday from 6:30AM – 3:00PM, with rotating on-call weekend requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Inspect,repairand perform maintenance on all types of plumbing systems to include heating, steam, gaslinesand medical gas systems.

  • Install andmaintainpipeassemblies, plumbingfixturesand fittings.

  • Test fire system valves, tamper switches, firepumpsand dry deluge fire systems.

  • Repair andmaintainsteam stations, pressure relief valves, heating/condensate return stations, back flowpreventersand sewer/storm drains.

  • Occasionally be assigned across multiple Cleveland Clinic locations.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Four years of experience as a plumber, including experience with pressurized gas systems, vacuum systems, steam, hotwaterand fire protection systems

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Plumbing License through the state of Florida’s Department of Commerce

  • Medical Gas Certification through the National Inspection Testing and Certification Corporation (NITC)

  • Certified Backflow Tester Certification through the state of Florida’s Department of Commerce

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods
  • Ability to be mobile for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
  • Ability to move/transport items weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)
  • Ability to move/transport equipment weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)
  • Ability to move/transport carts weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)
  • Ability to inspect equipment
  • Ability to install, repair and maintain systems, equipment, fixtures and/or structures
  • Ability to distinguish color
  • Ability to climb ladders
