Requirements


We are seeking an experienced
Playwright Test Automation Engineer

with strong
ServiceNow platform expertise

to design, develop, and execute automated tests for enterprise ServiceNow applications. This role focuses on ensuring high-quality delivery across ServiceNow modules by automating UI, workflow, and API-level testing using
Playwright

. The ideal candidate combines deep test automation knowledge with hands-on ServiceNow experience and thrives in fast-paced, CI/CD-driven environments.


Key Responsibilities


Test Automation Development


  • Design, develop, and maintain
    robust automated test scripts

    using
    Playwright

    (JavaScript/TypeScript or Python) for ServiceNow applications.


  • Automate
    end-to-end ServiceNow workflows

    , including form submissions, approvals, notifications, and integrations.


  • Implement UI, API, and data validation tests to ensure functionality, performance, and reliability.


ServiceNow Platform Testing


  • Leverage
    ServiceNow APIs, tables, and platform features

    to support comprehensive test automation.


  • Validate ServiceNow modules such as
    ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, CSM, CMDB, or custom applications

    .


  • Support testing of ServiceNow upgrades, enhancements, and customizations.


CI/CD & Test Execution


  • Integrate Playwright automation suites into
    CI/CD pipelines

    using tools such as
    Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions

    .


  • Enable continuous testing with automated execution on code commits and deployments.


  • Analyze test results, generate reports, and provide rapid feedback to development teams.


Defect Management & Collaboration


  • Execute automated test cases, identify defects, and log issues with clear reproduction steps.


  • Collaborate closely with
    ServiceNow developers, QA engineers, and business stakeholders

    to troubleshoot and resolve defects.


  • Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release readiness activities.


Framework & Documentation


  • Build and maintain
    scalable, reusable, and maintainable automation frameworks

    .


  • Ensure test code follows best practices, coding standards, and version control guidelines.


  • Document automated test cases, framework architecture, and ServiceNow testing strategies for team reference and onboarding.


Quality & Process Improvement


  • Promote best practices for
    ServiceNow test automation

    .


  • Continuously improve test coverage, execution efficiency, and overall QA processes.


  • Contribute ideas to enhance automation maturity and reduce manual testing effort.


Required Skills & Experience


Automation & Programming


  • 3–8 years of hands-on experience in
    test automation engineering

    .


  • Strong expertise in
    Playwright

    for UI and API automation.


  • Proficiency in
    JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python

    .


  • Solid understanding of automation frameworks, test design patterns, and best practices.


ServiceNow Expertise


  • Hands-on experience testing
    ServiceNow applications and workflows

    .


  • Strong knowledge of
    ServiceNow modules

    , tables, forms, workflows, and REST APIs.


  • Familiarity with ServiceNow development concepts (business rules, client scripts, integrations) is a plus.


CI/CD & Tools


  • Experience integrating automated tests into
    CI/CD pipelines

    .


  • Familiarity with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps, GitHub, and test reporting frameworks.


  • Experience with defect tracking tools (JIRA, ServiceNow, or similar).


Preferred Qualifications


  • Experience testing ServiceNow upgrades and releases.


  • Exposure to performance or load testing in ServiceNow environments.


  • Experience working in
    Agile/Scrum

    development teams.


  • ISTQB or ServiceNow certification is a plus.
