Title: Player Development Specialist, Duke Volleyball

Duke University is seeking a qualified candidate for the Player Development Specialist, Volleyball position within Duke University Department of Athletics. This position will assist the coaching staff with organizing, planning and implementation of assigned area within the program.

Essential Functions:

· Meet with and assist student-athletes in their transition from high school to Duke University

· Prepare and educate student-athletes for professional careers in volleyball

· Actively mentor student-athletes by informing and utilizing university and departmental resources

· Assist the coaching staff with assigned travel organization and logistics, operations and other duties to best support the vision and mission of Duke Volleyball

Knowledge, Skills, Ability:

· Ability to work with a diverse population

· Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills

· Knowledge of intercollegiate sports operations & recruiting

· Ability to train and motivate student-athletes

· Ability to work in a highly dynamic and diverse university setting

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Work requires analytical, communications and organizational skills acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree program. Prior coaching or playing experience preferably at the Division I level required.
