Help people create their tomorrow, while you create yours

We help people with their banking, super, retirement and finances. Through upturns, downturns, recessions, and major life transitions. Every day, we help people see and make more of their financial potential, so that they can create their tomorrow. And we’ve been doing it for over 170 years.

If we do our job well, we genuinely add to the prosperity of our country and its people.

Join a business in growth phase. Our wrap platform has been built for advisers, by advisers. It allows them to manage investments on our competitive and innovative offering. This role is your chance to be a part of the growth by driving innovation, client experience and efficiency to help more Australians achieve their wealth goals. The North investment operations team is responsible for the financial operations of all North investment and superannuation products.

The role is responsible for testing and validating tax business rules within the North platform, ensuring compliance with Australian tax legislation and documented tax procedures.

By executing tax processes across IDPS and super products, this role ensures the accurate treatment of tax on contributions, rollovers, earnings, lump sums and income streams, supporting compliant and reliable outcomes for members and investors.

How will you make an impact

  • Execute end‑to‑end tax processes across North IDPS and superannuation products, ensuring accurate and compliant tax treatment and meeting member and regulatory requirements.
  • Review tax reporting inputs from custodian ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for member and investor tax records, supporting the North Service Centre and broader operations with tax queries and guidance.
  • Test and validate tax business rules, system changes and software releases, including monitoring tax calculation batch jobs to ensure accurate system outputs.
  • Support the operationalisation of tax legislation and maintain tax procedure documentation, in partnership with Group Tax and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure the accuracy of annual tax reporting, including IDPS tax statements, taxable income calculation for Superfund members and AIIR reporting, contributing to strong compliance outcomes.
  • Collaborate with technology, operations and the AMP Group Tax team to maintain tax correctness and uplift organisational tax capability.

What you will bring to the role

  • Ideally at least 5 years’ experience in a tax, accounting or financial services environment, ideally within wealth management or investment operations.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Australian tax and accounting principles, with exposure to superannuation tax rules such as contribution caps, PAYG withholding and pension standards.
  • Experience executing and testing tax processes, controls or calculations within complex systems or platforms.
  • Understanding of financial services regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to analyse data, test outcomes and identify issues, with outstanding attention to detail.
  • Intermediate or basic SQL capability (preferred) to support analysis and validation activities.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in tax or accounting, or a willingness to undertake further study would be well regarded.

Who you are

You are detail‑oriented and analytical, with an excellent sense of accountability for delivering accurate and compliant outcomes. You take ownership of your work, apply sound judgement in day‑to‑day decision‑making and are motivated by delivering good customer and investor outcomes.

You enjoy working in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment and build effective relationships across operations, technology and tax teams. You communicate clearly and confidently, whether explaining technical concepts or supporting service teams to respond to member and adviser queries.

You are adaptable and proactive, comfortable navigating change and continuous improvement. With a curious mindset and a willingness to learn, you look for better ways of working and contribute positively to team culture, capability uplift and shared success
