
About the Role
We are seeking a Platform Technical Director to lead the architecture, modernization, and execution of enterprise platforms supporting wealth and investment technology capabilities. This is a senior technology leadership role for a strategic, hands‑on technologist who can operate at enterprise scale, influence executive stakeholders, and drive transformation across complex, regulated environments. In this role, you will own the technical vision and platform strategy, guide multiple engineering teams, and shape the future‑state architecture for mission‑critical wealth and investment platforms.
In this Role, You Will
Manage a team of engineering managers and engineering leads
Deliver technology commitments aligned to enterprise strategic priorities
Build support for platform strategies with business and technology leaders
Guide the development of actionable roadmaps and execution plans
Identify opportunities to continuously improve software engineering practices
Provide oversight of software craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability for solutions built by internal teams or third‑party providers
Own financial management, capacity planning, and strategic resourcing decisions
Establish risk management guidelines and partner with stakeholders to execute key risk initiatives
Develop and execute strategies for hiring and retaining engineering talent
Lead implementation of complex initiatives and encourage engineering innovation
Collaborate and influence professionals at all levels, including senior leaders
Ensure teams achieve defined objectives and measurable outcomes
Interface with external agencies, regulatory bodies, or industry forums as needed
Manage allocation of people and financial resources across technology initiatives
Build and sustain a culture of talent development aligned to business objectives
Experience with integrating business deliverables across various functions with cross functional / enterprise teams
Strong background in large‑scale platform engineering and distributed systems
Command Center Leadership – clear decision authority during incident and releases
Control design for Go/No-Go decisions, risk acceptance, rollback execution with experience balancing business urgency vs. platform integrity
Ability to translate technical failures to business impact to decision options in managing executive leadership communication.
Required Qualifications
10+ years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education
4+ years of management or leadership experience
Desired Qualifications
Experience supporting wealth management, brokerage, trading, or investment platforms
Prior experience with running platform engineering teams – leading business resiliency and contact center technology teams
Hands on experience of running major business incidents, communications & escalations
Proficient in running major cross functional releases
Experience with integrating business deliverables across various functions with cross functional, enterprise teams
Strong background in large‑scale platform engineering and distributed systems
Experience working within regulated or risk‑focused environments
Strong executive communication and stakeholder‑influencing skills
