Job Description

Job ID: 3927

Welcome to Group Technology, where we pride ourselves on engineering solutions and direct of the bank, and its surrounding environment to enable the Customer Vision and the Business Strategy. Would you like to join Nordea’s Architecture and Engineering team and help shape the future of banking through the modern engineering and platform journey?

About our opportunity and team

We are looking for an experienced leader to drive the strategic implementation and direction of Nordea’s internal platforms. Ensuring secure, consistent and high-quality products and tech stacks that are consumed across the organization. You will lead initiatives that establish process standards, productivity measures and product roadmaps. Our mission is to accelerate delivery, enhance quality, and drive innovation across the organization through simplified standardized practices, AI-powered automation and consumable tech stacks. We operate at the hearth of technology, ensuring that our engineering capabilities evolve to meet the changing needs of our customers and markets.

You as the Leader, play a key role in developing and supporting your team members to reach their aspirations and unleash their full potential.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Define the platform product strategy - Shape the direction of Nordea’s cloud and technology platforms across Cloud, data, and integration layers, ensuring they form a coherent product portfolio aligned to Nordea’s long-term strategy.
  • Drive how business teams consume technology - Establish the service and consumption model that allows Service Areas to access shared technology capabilities predictably and safely.
  • Set cloud and tech stack direction - Drive the process for architecture patterns, reference Tech-stacks, and golden paths that give business teams freedom to move fast within governed, compliant frameworks.
  • Embed governance into the platform by default - Work across Risk, Compliance, and Security to ensure regulatory requirements directly into platform capabilities, so business teams are compliant by design rather than by approval process.
  • Translate platform value into business outcomes - Build the metrics and narrative that connect platform investment to executive messaging: time-to-market, operational resilience, and cost efficiency across the Nordic footprint.

You’ll join a leadership team where the ambition level is high, and people are at our heart. The role is based in Oslo.

Who you are

Collaboration. Ownership. Passion. Courage. These are the values that guide us in how we work and how we make decisions – and that we imagine you share with us.

Your background and skills include:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related technical field.
  • Experienced product manager with DevOps or a related domain understanding.
  • Understanding of modern SDLC practices and toolchains, including CI/CD pipelines, workflow automation, and infrastructure as code.
  • Proven track record of driving measurable improvements in platform delivery and consumption.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset, able to translate complex data into actionable insights that guide strategic decisions.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills to partner with executives and cross-functional stakeholders.

As the Leader you are expected to and have a crucial role in:

  • Creating purpose by translating strategy into operational and actionable plans to showcase how we create value for our customers and impact business priorities.
  • Empowering people by identifying individual development opportunities to support growth and encourage them to share own ideas, concerns and learnings.
  • Driving performance by recognising individual contributions and collective victories to maintain a healthy balance through measurable goals and clear priorities for each team member.
  • Developing teams by nurturing a dynamic team culture, that emphasises trust and respect to ensure that everyone understands their unique value and contribution.
  • Fostering inclusion by creating equal opportunity through curiosity about all aspects of diversity in your team to evaluate habits and perspectives on a continuous basis.
