Platform Screen Door (PSD) Expert

The PSD Expert will be responsible for the planning, design review, integration, and delivery of Platform Screen Door (PSD) systems for an express railway system. The role will oversee system requirements, interface management, testing and commissioning activities, and operational readiness to support safe and efficient passenger operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, review, and integration of PSD systems across all project stages.

  • Develop and review PSD system requirements, performance specifications, and operational criteria.

  • Ensure integration between PSD systems, signalling systems, train control systems, rolling stock, communications systems, station systems, and SCADA.

  • Coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces involving architectural, structural, MEP, railway systems, and operational stakeholders.

  • Support Systems Engineering activities including requirements management, interface management, verification, and validation.

  • Review Design and Construct tender documentation and contractor technical submissions.

  • Support development of testing and commissioning strategies including FAT, SAT, SIT, integrated testing, and trial operations.

  • Identify and manage technical, operational, and integration risks associated with PSD systems.

  • Ensure compliance with railway safety requirements, international standards, and project specifications.

  • Provide technical leadership and support throughout project delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant Engineering Degree (Electrical, Electronic, Systems, Railway Engineering, or equivalent).

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in the AECO industry or relevant field.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in railway systems projects with direct PSD system involvement.

  • Professional certification or membership with a recognized engineering institution is preferred.

Experience & Skills

  • Extensive experience in PSD system design, integration, testing, and commissioning.

  • Strong understanding of interfaces with signalling, train control, rolling stock, station systems, and SCADA.

  • Familiarity with international PSD standards and railway safety requirements.

  • Strong Systems Engineering, interface management, and stakeholder coordination capabilities.

  • Proven experience delivering PSD systems on major rail infrastructure projects.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
