About the Role

Senior, hands-on technical lead for a multi-quarter platform and CI/CD uplift in a regulated Australian financial institution. You will set technical direction, make the trade-off calls, and personally build the foundations the rest of the team works from.

• Deep understanding of the end-to-end change lifecycle — local dev toproduction — and where it breaks.
• Holistic, systems view across CI/CD, security, observability, IaC, and developer experience.
• Strong leadership, initiative and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent appreciation of best practices and an eye for balancing security and productivity in a compliance environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the platform uplift roadmap end-to-end: sequencing, risks, and stakeholder communication.
• Lead the migration from a legacy CI platform to a modern, reusable-workflow model.
• Drive consolidation of multiple repositories and toolchains into a unifiedmonorepo and build system.
• Design promotion and deployment governance that balances automation with regulated-environment controls.
• Embed supply-chain security, vulnerability SLAs, and artifact integrity controls into the delivery pipeline.
• Establish DORA metrics, SLOs, and deployment traceability from a low baseline.
• Apply AI tooling pragmatically to accelerate engineering and ops productivity.
• Coach engineers, build internal champions, and represent the work to security, risk, and leadership.

Required Experience:

• Extensive experience in optimizing and securing pipelines for large monorepos and multiple teams.
• Production experience with GitOps, multi-environment promotion, and rollback design.
• Proficiency in Python, Go and/or Bash scripting.
• Operational fluency with AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and Helm.
• Track record leading multi-quarter platform transformations as the technical owner.

Nice to Have

• Experience in an APRA-regulated, PCI-scoped, or similar compliance environment.
• Experience migrating between SCM platforms at scale.
• Skills troubleshooting networking and operating system problems.
• Understanding of LLMs, vector databases, and AI-related technology internals.
• Experience with SSO, VPNs and other workplace IT system configuration.
