Job Description

GreatAmerica is a highly successful entrepreneurial company providing equipment financing to businesses across the United States. Our exemplary customer service, our principle-centered business philosophy and our team-based operating approach are key to our success and growth. We have also recently become a bank!

We Are Looking to Add a Key Member to Our Technology Team!

The Platform Engineer - Core Financial builds and supports GreatAmerica's core financial platforms - lease/loan servicing, general ledger, and document management systems - maintaining working knowledge of platform configuration and the business domains they enable: invoicing, funding/booking, accounting, and document workflows. This role operates with an awareness that platform reliability and data integrity carry regulatory weight in a regulated financial services environment.

As a Platform Engineer II, you will:

  • Design, build, and maintain platform capabilities; implement scalable, secure solutions across cloud and on-prem environments
  • Own and execute lifecycle activities (provisioning, upgrades, patching); proactively own platform health, scalability, and security for assigned components
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automation; reduce manual effort through repeatable processes
  • Monitor platform performance; troubleshoot complex issues; participate in incident response and root cause analysis
  • Recognize when platform or data issues stem from upstream vendor instability versus internal causes; escalate appropriately and document the distinction
  • Implement and maintain security controls and access management; maintain audit-ready documentation for assigned platforms
  • Partner with product, engineering, and business teams; contribute to knowledge sharing and reusable components

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience supporting, engineering, or administering technology platforms.

Skills and Abilities

  • Experience administering or supporting enterprise financial/leasing/banking platforms (loan/lease origination and servicing systems, enterprise content management, general ledger systems), in either on-premises or SaaS deployment models
  • Working knowledge of a major cloud platform (Azure/AWS/GCP); relevant certification a plus
  • Basic programming or scripting ability (.NET/Java/JavaScript/TypeScript)
  • Proficiency in SQL (SQL Server/PostgreSQL), including writing and troubleshooting queries
  • Working knowledge of DevOps and Agile delivery practices
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (DNS, firewall/security group rules) and role-based access control as they apply to platform connectivity and security
  • Integration experience with Salesforce a plus
  • Working understanding of how upstream vendor platform failures can cascade into downstream reporting and data systems
  • Understanding of system integration, APIs, and distributed systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
