About this role

The EDGE platform team are the guardians of the JET perimeter. We are focused on providing a secure, highly observable, self-service entry point for all global traffic.

We are currently bridging the gap between today's operational realities and tomorrow's capabilities. As a Platform Engineer, you will own defined components of our edge ecosystem: keeping our active ingress routing stable and secure, helping untangle fragmented legacy edge infrastructure, and building features into our next-generation, decentralised gateway platform. You will do this alongside senior engineers who will back you in widening that ownership over time.

Location: Remote Canada or Remote UK

Reporting to: Technology Manager

These are some of the key ingredients to the role:

• Maintain and secure the global ingress and gateway estate, and deliver the migration of legacy edge infrastructure onto modern, decentralised gateway platforms.
• Work with Platform, Security, and Engineering teams to build resilient, highly observable edge traffic routing, contributing to the design and owning your part of the delivery.
• Build automation and tooling that makes the platform easier to adopt, reduces manual support work, and takes toil off the team.
• Contribute to a high-velocity, multi-environment deployment pipeline and a collaborative peer review culture, holding a high standard both in the changes you raise and the reviews you give.
• Write clear documentation and technical runbooks as you deliver, and take part in a rotational on-call program for platform stability and incident response.

What will you bring to the table?

• Experience building, configuring, or supporting public-facing traffic routing, reverse proxies, or API gateways in production.
• Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure and containerised environments using modern Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD tooling (Terraform, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions).
• Working proficiency in a modern programming language (Go, Python, C# or similar), used to build automated tooling and platform capabilities.
• Experience delivering infrastructure change against live production services, understanding how to limit disruption and when to ask for a second pair of eyes.
• Clear technical writing, and the confidence to communicate progress, risk, and blockers to the team and the teams that depend on it.

Compensation range: $79,400.00 – $104,500.00 CAD. Final compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and internal equity.
