Job Description

of the Role

The Platform Engineer is a hands-on technical role responsible for the administration, support, troubleshooting, and operational maintenance of enterprise cloud, identity, endpoint, collaboration, and infrastructure platforms.

This role acts as a Tier 2/3 escalation point for complex incidents and service issues escalated from Service Desk, internal IT teams, and MSP support. It requires strong technical capability across Microsoft cloud technologies, identity, endpoint management, and infrastructure platforms, with a focus on production stability, incident resolution, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, configure, and troubleshoot Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 services in production environments.
  • Act as a Tier 2/3 escalation point for complex platform, identity, endpoint, and cloud-related incidents.
  • Investigate and resolve production issues across Azure, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, and SaaS platforms.
  • Manage identity and access services, including Entra ID, user lifecycle management, Conditional Access, MFA, RBAC, and access troubleshooting.
  • Support Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, and related collaboration services, including issue resolution and configuration changes.
  • Manage and troubleshoot Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments.
  • Administer Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, endpoint compliance policies, and device lifecycle operations.
  • Troubleshoot endpoint and device management issues across Windows devices and corporate endpoints.
  • Support backup, recovery, and disaster recovery platforms, including Acronis and SpinOne, including restore testing and incident recovery.
  • Monitor platform health, performance, availability, and capacity, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and contribute to problem management for recurring or critical incidents.
  • Support platform deployments, configuration changes, migrations, and onboarding activities into production.
  • Implement and troubleshoot endpoint security and compliance controls.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with Service Desk, Internal IT, Security teams, MSP, and vendors to resolve incidents.
  • Build and maintain PowerShell automation to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across cloud, identity, endpoint, and infrastructure platforms.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in Infrastructure, Systems, Cloud, or Platform Engineering roles.
  • Strong experience supporting and troubleshooting Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 environments.
  • Proven experience resolving production incidents in enterprise environments (Tier 2/3 support).
  • Deep understanding of Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams, and Microsoft 365 services.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, endpoint management, and device compliance troubleshooting.
  • Hands-on experience with Entra ID administration including Conditional Access, MFA, RBAC, and identity lifecycle troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) in production environments.
  • Solid experience with Windows Server and Active Directory administration and troubleshooting.
  • Working knowledge of PIM, Identity Governance, and Zero Trust security principles.
  • Experience supporting backup and disaster recovery platforms such as Acronis, SpinOne, or similar.
  • Understanding of virtualization technologies (VMware or Hyper-V).
  • Familiarity with endpoint security and EDR tools (Microsoft Defender or Threat Locker).
  • Basic understanding of SIEM and security monitoring concepts.
  • Experience working with MSPs, internal IT teams, and vendors in incident escalation environments.
  • Strong PowerShell scripting and automation capability is highly desirable.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical thinking, and incident resolution skills.
  • Microsoft certifications (AZ-104, MS-102, MD-102 or similar) highly regarded.
