To keep up with our ambitions, we're growing our AI & Platform Engineering team. You'll join two Platform Engineers and a Security Engineer who own Spond's infrastructure and developer experience, working closely with engineering teams across the company to help them ship faster, safer, and more confidently. The “AI” in our team name reflects a growing part of our charter: alongside running the platform, we're bringing AI into engineering workflows, from SRE automation to cloud-agent-assisted development.

The position is based in Oslo. A valid work permit for Norway is required.

As a Platform Engineer at Spond, you'll build and maintain the infrastructure, tooling, and processes that power our platform, including AI capabilities that change how our engineers build and ship. You'll help pave golden paths, champion best practices, and ensure our systems are observable, reliable, scalable, and secure.

To succeed in this role, you'll bring a strong interest in cloud infrastructure, developer tooling, and how AI is reshaping engineering. We're looking for someone who takes ownership, thinks about the bigger picture, and enjoys both building systems and sharing knowledge with the engineers who depend on them. Your work will involve:

• Operating Kubernetes on AWS, the foundation that our platform runs on

• Building AI-powered tooling that empowers our engineers. For example, automating root cause analysis for SRE and bringing cloud agents into developer workflows.

• Managing and improving our CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows with ArgoCD and CircleCI

• Building self-service infrastructure and developer tooling that cover the full path from onboarding and access through deploying and operating services

• Ensuring system reliability through observability, monitoring, and incident response practices

• Collaborating with product teams to understand their needs and remove friction from their workflows

• Building paved paths and advocating for platform best practices

Skills we are looking for:

• Strong hands-on experience operating Kubernetes and working with cloud platforms (AWS preferred)

• Experience building AI-powered tooling or agent-enabled capabilities, or a strong appetite to build in this space

• Confidence with infrastructure as code using Terraform, OpenTofu, or similar tools

• Experience building CI/CD foundations and shared tooling that drive consistent deployment practices across teams

• Comfortable in at least one backend language. Most of our services are on the JVM, and we use Go for platform tooling.

• Experience building platforms, tooling, and workflows that help others ship safely and quickly

• Clear, effective communication skills, with enthusiasm for documentation, advocacy, and knowledge sharing

• Comfortable owning a problem end-to-end, and pushing it across the finish line without close oversight
