About the Role & Team

IDC is building the next generation of AI-powered intelligence platforms that transform how technology decisions get made. Our platform re-imagines the way decision-makers discover and interact with trusted research and data, and is foundational to IDC's future.

We are looking for a Platform Engineer to join the Channel & Integration Pod, focused on building Slack and Teams adapters that bring IDC's intelligence directly into the collaboration tools where users spend their day. You will own the platform-specific integration layer: event handling, message parsing, response rendering, thread management, and interactive components.

This role requires someone who understands the realities of building on third-party platforms. You will navigate platform API rate limits, delivery guarantees, and render constraints while ensuring users get a seamless, responsive experience.

What You’ll Do

• Build Slack and Teams adapters that deliver IDC intelligence into collaboration workflows
• Implement platform-specific event handling, message parsing, and response rendering (Block Kit, Adaptive Cards)
• Build thread mapping that maintains conversational context across platform interactions
• Develop interactive components: action buttons, deep links, and sharing capabilities
• Contribute to shared infrastructure: identity linking, rate limiting, and audit logging
• Handle platform API rate limits and delivery guarantee to ensure reliable user experiences

What You Bring

• 3+ years of experience building integrations, platform services, or backend systems
• Hands-on experience with at least one of: Slack Bolt, Slack API, or Teams Bot Framework
• Understanding of webhook architectures and event-driven integration patterns
• Experience with OAuth 2.0
• Proficiency in Python or a similar backend language
• Comfort working with third-party platform constraints and evolving APIs

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with both Slack and Teams platform development
• Background in enterprise app deployment and distribution
• Experience with rich message formatting and interactive message components
• Familiarity with notification delivery systems and delivery reliability patterns
• Background in enterprise SaaS or B2B product development
