As a Platform Engineer, you'll be the backbone of our robust and secure IT infrastructure. You'll design, implement, and maintain the network, servers, and systems that power our organization. Your commitment to security, compliance (especially PCI DSS), and 24/7 reliability will ensure the seamless operation of our critical business processes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Architect robust infrastructure: Design, implement, and meticulously maintain network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, hypervisors, backup systems, and other essential hardware.
• Manage server environments: Oversee the installation, configuration, and optimization of servers (both Windows and Linux), ensuring high availability and performance.
• Champion security and compliance: Maintain strict adherence to PCI DSS and other security standards, implementing protocols, monitoring tools, and continuously refining security strategies.
• Proactive troubleshooting: Provide 24/7 technical support, rapidly diagnosing and resolving network and system issues to minimize downtime.
• Build reliable access: Manage access controls (VPNs, logins, etc.) ensuring secure and authorized use of resources.
• Collaborate for success: Work closely with internal teams to understand their needs, proactively addressing challenges and ensuring IT systems align with business goals.
• Uphold standards: Contribute to the development and enforcement of IT policies and procedures to maintain operational excellence.
• Managed services expert: Lead the delivery of managed IT services, including meticulous monitoring, proactive support, and robust security measures.
• Ensure business continuity: Manage and execute our Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and Disaster Recovery processes.
• Drive improvement: Analyze service performance data, pinpoint areas for optimization, and suggest enhancements that boost efficiency and resilience.
Skills and Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Hands-on expertise: Proven experience in network infrastructure, server administration, and system maintenance.
• Security focused: Deep understanding of security standards like PCI DSS, vulnerability management, and threat mitigation techniques.
• Hypervisor mastery: In-depth knowledge of hypervisors (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
• Troubleshooting excellence: Superior problem-solving skills to swiftly address complex network and system issues.
• Database proficiency: Experience in database administration (e.g., MSSQL, MySQL).
• Hardware knowledge: Experience with server and network hardware setup and maintenance.
• HSM understanding: Experience with Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) for cryptographic key management.
• Team player: Ability to collaborate effectively with development, security, and other IT teams.
• Adaptable schedule: Availability for on-call/shift work to ensure 24/7 support coverage.
