Platform DevOps Deployment Engineer
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Platform DevOps Deployment Engineer to design and deliver secure, scalable installation and deployment solutions across Linux-based desktop and edge environments.
In this role, you will own the development of installers, system provisioning, OS hardening, and secure integration of applications and services. You’ll work across the full lifecycle—from packaging and deployment to system integration and ongoing platform updates—helping ensure our platforms are reliable, secure, and production-ready.
This is a hands-on, highly visible role ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of Linux systems, DevOps, security, and device/edge deployment.
What You’ll Do
• Build and maintain Linux installers and software packages (APT, Snap, Flatpak, etc.) across multiple distributions
• Design and implement secure system provisioning and deployment workflows for desktop and edge systems
• Harden operating systems to protect sensitive data (PII) and meet security best practices
• Implement secure secrets management and integrate with identity platforms (e.g., Okta)
• Configure system networking and connectivity to support application and service communication
• Develop plans for updating Docker and Native-based services and patterns
• Integrate and validate third-party tools, peripherals, and system services
• Automate build, packaging, and deployment using CI/CD pipelines and scripting
• Partner with engineering teams to manage OS and application updates and ensure system compatibility
• Support integrating our fleet deployment and management solution across installations
What You Bring
• 5+ years of experience in Linux systems engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering
• Strong expertise in Linux OS internals (systemd, permissions, networking, services)
• Experience with software packaging and deployment tools (APT, Snap, Flatpak, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized applications
• Knowledge of OS hardening, security best practices, and secrets management
• Experience integrating identity/access systems (Okta or similar)
• Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python, or similar)
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
• Ability to own and deliver complex technical solutions end-to-end
Nice to Have
• Experience supporting Windows and Linux environment connections for services to communicate with each other.
• Knowledge of secure software supply chain practices
• Experience with device, peripheral, or hardware integration
• Familiarity with field deployments or large-scale system provisioning
Why Join Us
• Work on real-world systems deployed at scale across edge and platform environments
• Solve complex challenges at the intersection of security, deployment, and system engineering
• Play a key role in modernizing our platform while supporting critical production systems
• Collaborate with experienced engineers and have meaningful technical ownership
Compensation: $97,000 - $125,000 annually, contingent on level of experience
