Job Description

of the Position:

Learn and understand the proper sequences and techniques in the plating process. Be responsible for assigned step(s) in the process, report any problems to Management. Be familiar with the company computer system, know how to "clock" parts to locations and document the required paperwork.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Remove coating from parts using a chemical processes with and without rectification without causing detrimental damage to the substrate.
  • Perform Hydrogen embrittlement bakes as required per work instructions.
  • Be able to read and use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, c-micrometers, and bore gauges.
  • Develop a clear ability to review various customer procedures for routing conformance.
  • Be capable of identifying basic metal types.
  • Prepare plating surfaces of all parts.
  • Paint, tape, rack, and grit blast parts assigned.
  • Understand the temperature ranges that various plating solutions should run.
  • Plate parts to the specifications called for on "Travelers".
  • Clean parts with chemical cleaners and mechanical means.
  • Use proper hearing, eye, hand and foot protection as required.
  • Check to ensure parts are placed in tanks with correct polarity.

Other Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must speak, read and write the English language.
  • Should have basic computer software skills.
  • Prior work experience in plating helpful but not require
  • Should be able to read blueprints

Qualifications

Education / Experience Requirements:

  • Must have H.S. Diploma or GED
  • Must have 3 months to 2 years ACI experience or related outside experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
