Plasterer

Location: Birmingham

Contract: Full Time Permanent

Salary up to £37,000 per annum, plus, company van & fuel card

42.5 hours per week (8-5 Monday- Friday)

About the role:

We're looking for a skilled and reliable Plasterer to join our Birmingham Voids team, helping to bring empty social housing properties back up to a high standard before new tenants move in.

This is a hands-on role focused on carrying out a range of plastering repairs and refurbishment works within vacant properties. From patch repairs and full room re-skims to making good following electrical, plumbing and general maintenance works, you'll play an important role in ensuring homes are safe, presentable and ready for occupation.

Working as part of a dedicated voids team, you'll be responsible for delivering quality workmanship, meeting turnaround targets and maintaining high standards across Birmingham's housing stock. We're looking for someone with strong plastering experience, a keen eye for detail and a commitment to getting the job done right first time.

Duties:

  • Carry out plastering repairs and refurbishment works within void properties
  • Complete patch repairs to walls and ceilings following maintenance and refurbishment works
  • Prepare surfaces and apply bonding, plaster, skimming and rendering as required
  • Repair damaged walls and ceilings, including full-room and full-property re-plastering
  • Apply smooth finishes ready for decoration and handover
  • Make good around windows, doors, sockets, pipework and newly installed fixtures
  • Work alongside other trades to ensure properties meet lettable standards
  • Identify and rectify plastering defects as part of the void refurbishment process
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment within vacant properties
  • Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company standards
  • Record completed works, materials used and job updates using handheld devices or job sheets
  • Identify and report any additional repairs or property defects requiring attention
  • Support the achievement of void turnaround and property handover targets
  • Maintain tools, equipment and company vehicle in good working order
  • Deliver high-quality workmanship with a right-first-time approach
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures and health and safety requirements

Role Criteria:

  • Proven experience as a Plasterer within domestic maintenance, refurbishment or void property works
  • Experience carrying out patch repairs, full skims, boarding and plastering to a high standard
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to work independently and manage workloads to achieve void turnaround targets
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to delivering quality finishes first time
  • Good knowledge of building repairs, refurbishment works and lettable standards
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations and safe working practices
  • Ability to use handheld devices or job management systems to record completed works
  • Flexible approach with the ability to work collaboratively alongside other trades
  • Commitment to delivering high standards of workmanship and customer service
