Job Description

Position Summary:

The Plasma Helper receives instructions from the Production Manager and Plasma Operator about the assignments and expectations for the day. The helper will have been trained on the Plasma Table and will be required to follow processes and procedures either posted or directed by management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Helps get the table ready for production.
  • Helps monitor the machine during use to address any problems and adjusts as needed.
  • Helps to inspect the finished product to ensure specifications have been met. This includes grade, thickness, and size, as well as other key measurements.
  • Performs daily inspections as instructed by the Plasma Operator using quality checkpoints before and after use along with weekly and monthly preventative maintenance.
  • Measures and keeps useable drop material and records thickness, grade, and dimensions. to help keep track of inventory.
  • Alerts the Operator of any concerns or problems with the machine.
  • Assures their assignments are completed on time.
  • Responsible for safety and housekeeping of their area.
  • Uses forklifts to load and carry material.

Education and Experience Required:

  • HS Diploma or GED Equivalent from an accredited institution

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:

  • Experience operating a Plasma Table
  • Experience working in a manufacturing setting
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Knowledgeable in TFI/OSHA Safety Requirements

Physical Requirements: Qualified applicants must be able to perform the following physical job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation:

  • Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds 4+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to work in hot, humid, and cold manufacturing environment
  • Must be able to work in crowded spaces for 4+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to bend and crawl for 4+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to crouch, kneel, and stoop for 4+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to climb ladders for 4+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for 6+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to perform simple grasping, push, pull, perform fine manipulation, and feel for 6+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to operate foot pedals for 4+ hours per shift
  • Must be able to make fine distinctions in sound, express, and exchange written or spoken words, and distinguish objects and equipment visually
