Cambridge Concrete Plant Supervisor
Plant Supervisor – Cambridge Concrete
Salary: £31,000 - £35,000pa

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Plant Supervisor to join our Haverhill Concrete operation. This is a key position responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality production of concrete while maintaining exceptional standards across the site.
We are looking for a proactive and hands-on individual who can lead by example, maintain strong operational standards, and deliver excellent customer service in a fast-paced production environment.
The Role
As Plant Supervisor, you will work closely with the wider team to oversee the day-to-day operation of the concrete plant, ensuring production targets, health & safety standards, environmental compliance, and customer expectations are consistently achieved.
You will be responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient site while ensuring plant operations run smoothly and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the safe and efficient production of concrete and mortar
Liaise with the Order Office, plant staff, and customers to meet production and delivery requirements
Operate the batching plant and Front-End Loader (FEL) to company standards
Ensure excellent housekeeping and site presentation at all times
Conduct routine inspections, maintenance checks, and record defects accordingly
Monitor plant performance to maximise output, efficiency, and quality
Ensure sufficient raw materials are always available to meet production demands
Carry out daily visual stock checks and monthly stock verification
Inspect incoming materials to confirm quality and compliance
Ensure waste disposal, dust emissions, and water discharges comply with environmental procedures
Promote and enforce health & safety procedures across site
Ensure employees, contractors, and visitors adhere to all site safety regulations
Report any issues that may impact health & safety, product quality, operational efficiency, or environmental compliance
Maintain accurate operational records and documentation
Support continuous improvement through regular review of plant utilisation and working practices
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, quality standards, and fraud prevention measures
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience within a concrete, quarry, asphalt, or heavy industrial environment
Experience operating batching plants and mobile plant equipment such as FELs
Strong understanding of health & safety and environmental compliance
Excellent organisational and communication skills
A proactive and hands-on approach to problem solving
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards
