The Plant Supervisor is responsible for supervising the operation and maintenance of assigned solar assets in Vietnam. The role ensures that plant operations, maintenance activities, contractor performance, safety standards, and technical reporting are managed effectively in line with company standards, regulatory requirements, and asset performance objectives.

This is a technical role, requiring strong knowledge of solar PV operations, electrical systems, O&M practices, contractor coordination, and site-level problem solving.

Responsibilities

1. Plant Operations & Maintenance

  • Manage overall daily on-site activities and operational matters for assigned solar assets
  • Provide regular updates and reports to manager and other stakeholders on plant status, site activities, contractor performance, and operational matters.
  • Supervise day-to-day operation and maintenance activities for assigned solar assets.
  • Monitor plant performance, equipment condition, availability, generation output, and key operating parameters.
  • Coordinate preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities with O&M contractors.
  • Ensure O&M procedures, maintenance plans, and technical standards are properly implemented on site.
  • Identify equipment issues, recurring failures, and areas for technical improvement.

2. Contractor & Site Coordination

  • Coordinate with service contractors to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to agreed scope, timeline, and quality standards.
  • Review contractor work progress, technical reports, maintenance records, and site execution quality.
  • Support troubleshooting of technical issues involving PV modules, inverters, transformers, switchgear, electrical systems, grid interface, and monitoring systems.
  • Mobilise site resources where required to support urgent operational or technical matters.
  • Act as the site coordination point between contractors, internal teams, managers, and relevant stakeholders.

3. Performance Improvement & Reporting

  • Analyse plant performance data and support improvement actions to maximise asset availability, generation, and efficiency.
  • Provide technical input for root cause analysis, incident investigation, and defect rectification.
  • Support optimisation of maintenance activities to balance performance, risk, cost, and asset lifecycle considerations.
  • Provide input for O&M budget preparation, cost tracking, maintenance planning, and operational reporting.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of site activities, inspections, technical findings, and improvement actions.
  • Prepare and submit timely operational updates, reports, and documentation as required by the manager and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure relevant managers and stakeholders are kept informed of key site developments, performance issues, and required decisions.

4. HSE, Compliance & Stakeholder Management

  • Ensure site activities comply with company HSE requirements, local regulations, and applicable technical standards.
  • Support safety procedures, risk assessments, permit-to-work processes, and contractor safety compliance.
  • Maintain working relationships with local stakeholders, contractors, authorities, grid operators, and relevant external parties.
  • Support other Asset Operations activities or additional assignments as required by management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related discipline.
  • 5–7 years of relevant experience in operation and maintenance of renewable energy, power generation, electrical systems, or utility-scale solar assets.
  • Strong knowledge of solar PV technology, inverters, transformers, switchgear, electrical systems, grid connection, monitoring systems, and O&M practices.
  • Experience working with O&M contractors, service providers, local authorities, and energy operators.
  • Ability to analyse plant performance, operating parameters, technical issues, and maintenance data.
  • Good coordination, problem-solving, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with contractors, internal teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong commitment to HSE, operational discipline, stewardship, collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
  • Valid driving licence.
  • Proficiency in Vietnamese and working knowledge of English.
