Position Summary
The Plant Superintendent is responsible for the overall leadership and daily operation of the manufacturing facility. This role ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality production of beverages while meeting volume, cost, and quality targets. The Plant Superintendent provides strong leadership to production, maintenance, quality, and warehouse teams and drives continuous improvement across all plant operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Oversee all plant operations including production, maintenance, quality assurance, warehousing, and sanitation
• Lead, coach, and develop department supervisors and hourly teams to achieve plant goals
• Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining high standards for product quality and food safety
• Champion safety programs and maintain a zero-incident culture (OSHA compliance, GMPs, HACCP/SQF)
• Monitor and control key performance indicators: OEE, downtime, labor efficiency, yield, and waste
• Drive cost reduction and process improvement initiatives
• Collaborate with maintenance leadership to execute preventive maintenance and minimize unplanned downtime
• Manage plant budget, including labor, materials, and operating expenses
• Ensure full compliance with all regulatory, food safety, and company policies
• Lead daily/weekly production and operations meetings
• Develop and implement initiatives to improve employee engagement and retention
Qualifications & Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in related field (preferred)
• Minimum 5-7 years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience (beverage, food, or CPG industry strongly preferred)
• Minimum 2-3 years in a Superintendent or Plant Manager-level role
• Strong working knowledge of beverage production equipment, high-speed filling/packaging lines, and utilities
• Proven track record in safety, quality, and operational performance improvement
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies is a plus
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic ERP systems (SAP or similar)
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed
Physical & Work Environment
• Ability to walk the production floor for extended periods
• Must be comfortable working in a loud, fast-paced manufacturing environment with varying temperatures
• Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs may be required
