DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Coordinate production materials and ingredients with production schedule demands. Manage supply inventories to ensure efficient and effective operation of the assigned department or facility. Work with Plant and Corporate Management to implement and improve material planning and inventory strategies, including setting inventory targets, improving replenishment planning procedures and improving scheduling effectiveness.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for and liaison with supply chain and manufacturing departments.
  • Collaborate with production departments to establish inventory processes, schedules and plans that allocate available resources to best serve client or customer needs.
  • Compare available inventory of raw materials daily with production schedule to ensure zero downtime for out-of-stock supplies.
  • Ensure adequate raw materials inventory is on hand to achieve production requirements.
  • Work with outside supply vendors to ensure accurate and timely delivery of orders.
  • Participate in periodic forecasting meetings with sales, marketing and other related departments.
  • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures and regulations.
  • Support all safety, food quality and sanitation initiatives and policies.
  • Follow SugarCreek safety rules and procedures.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Business, Logistics, Operations, or other related field; or equivalent experience.

Experience: 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing planning or similar role, preferably in a food industry setting.

Certification or Licensure Requirements: Professional certification by the American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) a plus.

  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Possess thorough understanding of the business and supply chain.
  • Know strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Possess strong proficiency with production planning systems, such as MRP II.
  • Able to understand manufacturing processes.
  • Know how to actively listen to employees across various departments to address production issues or improve production efficiency.
  • Able to read, interpret and review instructions for preparation of materials.
  • Able to use critical thinking to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions or approaches to problems.
  • Able to work well with others in a team environment.
