Make your mark while you grow your career! We have an opportunity for Plant Operators to join our Albian Operations - JPM Plant - Ore Prep. You will operate the plant to meet planned production, quality and environmental targets. We are looking for self-starters with an adaptive work style who work well in a fast-paced team environment, with a continuous improvement mindset with the drive to enact change. This position reports to the Shift Team Lead.

  • Job location: Albian Sands Site - Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • Shift schedule: 7x7 – rotating day and night, working 12-hour shift (Tuesday -Monday)
  • Safety sensitive position: Yes

Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensure the safety of people, equipment, and the environment while ensuring plant procedures and policies are followed
  • Perform plant operation duties including proactive equipment monitoring and rounds in a safe and efficient manner and ensure shift changes are well communicated with oncoming crew
  • Prepare equipment for maintenance using Lock Out Tag outs (LOTO’s) energy isolation of equipment
  • Issue Safe Work Permits within a plant operating environment
  • Ensure timely action and process adjustments during plant upsets that are consistent with operational objectives and target outputs
  • Utilize our maintenance management system and entering work orders for deficiencies that need to be repaired

What You Bring to the Role:

  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Valid and clean Class 5 driver’s license
  • Mechanical aptitude to manage hands-on operation of plant equipment
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with proven safety and environmental mindset and ability to make timely decisions associated with process upsets
